It's Spring in Utah, and Mother Nature is having some serious issues right now. I think yesterday marks the first day in over a month that it hasn't rained! It seems like every city has some sort of flood watch going on. Yikes! Before I left for Texas 2 weeks ago I went to Lowe's and picked about 50 flowers/plants and a bunch of seeds to plant in my first ever GARDEN!!!! I did get the garden planted, but we weren't able to get any of the flowers planted before I left. So I was hoping I'd come home to a very nice landscaped front yard... but that was not to be. It rained the whole time I was gone. In the 2 hours of clear weather Evens had he planted as much as he could, and the day after I got home we spent the whole day out in the yard. I mowed a very, very overgrown backyard. It was so overgrown that the mower died on me a few times! While I was cussing in the backyard and inhaling thousands of dandelion seeds, Evens was busy digging, planting, and fixing sprinklers in the front yard. After I finished I wandered up front to finish helping him. It took almost 8 hours (not straight-- we did have to stop a lot to take care of the girls), but we got all of them planted! Yay! I am sure our next-door neighbors are breathing a sigh of relief now that we've finally finished it (since they are trying to sell their house and we've had a monstrous hole in our front yard for months!). I must say it looks very nice, and once the flowers start to grow in and we get rid of the extra dirt (we really need to get a truck!) it will look just beautiful!
What do you think?
Evens had to put them out first so we could decide where we wanted everything.
All planted!

| So on the bottom of this picture on the left side is a mum, in the middle a lavender, and on the right a geranium. It's going to be so pretty this summer!!!! And fragrant!!! |

| My new favorites! I just discovered Dahlia's and I can't get enough of them!!! |
All of these plants are perennials, so now I get to go back to Lowe's and get a bunch of pretty annuals to fill in the space! We'll also finish covering the ground up and then get something to cover it up with. Still not done, but definitely much better than what we had!

This sounds all too familiar! We've had the same weather, done the same kind of work and also, I planted dahlias. It looks so nice!
