Ah Crap

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to keep up with my blog, including trying really hard to catch up on 2012 by the end of January 2013... as you can see I really suck at keeping my resolutions.  Oh well.  So we will now skip to about the middle of 2012 with Sophie's 3rd birthday. 

And moving on!  We also got a dog in 2012.  Let me give you a little backstory for this part of the post.  Evens HAS NEVER wanted a dog-- or cat-- but since I don't like cats that wasn't a problem.  From day #1 Evens made it clear that we couldn't have a dog.  The biggest reason is that he's allergic.  But he never even wanted an outside dog.  So one day Evens comes home and says, "oh by the way we are getting a dog".  WHAT???  So a couple of days later he brings home this cute little guy:

We named him Cooper and had a blast with him for a couple of months and then we discovered that Kara is highly allergic to dogs:

And so we had to give Cooper to another family who would love him as much as we did. It was very hard for Kara and at first we didn't want her to believe that it was all because of her (there were some other factors as well) but she finally realized that her health was really bad with Cooper around and it was better for her to send him to live with someone else.  We have since looked into hypoallergenic dogs and maybe one day we will get one of those.  But for now we will just stalk all the people who walk their dogs in our neighborhood!
