Evens took last Friday off so that he could have a 3 day weekend. Since Kara broke our toilet to the point of no repair, we decided that since we had to replace the toilet we should put in the tile that we bought for the bathroom awhile ago. And then we figured that if we were going to put down tile we should replace the vanity with the one Evens bought well over a year ago. We were super pumped and eager to get it done and figured it could be done in 3 days. (Actually, both of our thought processes went something like this: the toilet is out already, so how hard can it be to get it done? Not hard at all, right?) Well right now I am ROTFLMBO. Actually, I'm not. Because it's now become a major inconvenience. This is how the bathroom looked when we started:
On Day 1 we (and yes, I helped) pulled out the vanity, pulled off the mirror, and pulled off the laminate flooring and the first level of wood (whatever it's called... I'm not big on terms):
No more vanity or mirror
No more flooring
Gotta vacuum up all the dust and wood chips, oh and those miserable little staples that I helped pull out. Grrr...
Ok, so the next day Evens (I didn't help with this part) put down the hardi backer, then he and a friend put down the mortar and tile.
Depending on the lighting it looks brown or green. Purty...
Of course we had to take a snow break:
Those girls sure are heavy to pull around.
Kara was a little frozen by the time we were done!
So it's now Day 5 and I am still waiting on Evens to get the grout done. Then all that's left is to paint, replace the vanity, mirror, and toilet, and put in new lights. I still have to decorate, but I'll wait until after I'm back from Texas because I have no idea what to do with that. I'm hoping that I'll have a usable bathroom by the time my dad gets here on Saturday, but I'm starting to doubt my odds... Oh well, I'm sure it will look nice when I see it again in 3 weeks! In the meantime, Kara has to be put up on our toilet every time she has to go because it's too tall for her. (and me, but that's a private matter)
All the worries

The tile looks beautiful! It's taking longer than you planned, but it certainly looks worth it!
At least you married the handy-Martin. That's all I have to say about that.
3 weeks with your parents? You're so spoiled.
It'll look awesome when you're done!
That tile looks great! Let's see those after pictures. I guess I could stalk you and come over in person. :)
Wanna send Evens over and he can do our bathroom upstairs. Still has the original flooring and tub (which I kindof like the tub, kinda of).
