Kara’s Girlie Weekend

Evens’s mom came down this last weekend from Idaho to visit us and brought Kara and Sophie’s cousin with her.  Kara doesn’t get much girl cousin time, as she only has 2 of them.  One is a year older and one is a year younger than her, and even though there is a year difference anytime that Kara gets to spend with her girl cousins is time she loves (although she really loves to spend time with any of her cousins).  Anyway, so we had a VERY busy weekend while they were here and I think the girls are still trying to recuperate… as am I.  They got here late Thursday night and the girls just had to sleep together, so we put them in the “castle” for a sleepover.

On Friday we drove to Midway to go antique-ing.  When Evens and I stayed there for our anniversary we walked around downtown and found a couple of adorable antique shops.  Lynette is an avid antique-er (?) and so she really wanted to go see what they had tucked away in cute little Midway.  We ate lunch at the BEST restaurant EVER: Bear Dance, and the girls enjoyed it almost as much as me.

We turned our heads for 30 seconds and Sophie had grabbed the bowl of ketchup and was literally drinking it.  She got pretty messy and cried when we took the bowl away from her.  I guess there are worse things she could drink straight-up…

Friday night the girls all painted their nails with glitter nail polish and had a blast, and then on Saturday we drove to Brigham City to get Lynette some fruit.  We all went to a birthday party for Kara’s friend that night, and then I went to work while everyone else went home to bathe and get to bed.  Sunday we all went to church, came home and Nana and Kara’s cousin left to go home.  After they left we all crashed—and slept for almost 4 hours!  Those girls were wiped out!  We had a lot of fun though.

This weekend is going to be busy as well, but I can’t wait.  Monday is my grandma’s annual family reunion in Wellsville.  It’s one of my most favorite times of the year, and someday I’m hoping I’ll get to spend the reunion with Evens.  He always has to work Labor Day so I usually go up alone.  Until then I will keep packing up the girls and heading up there for fun with my family!
