My dad came up a couple of weeks ago to visit his family. While up in Logan we took a short break and went fishing. Er, I should say that my dad bought Kara a fishing pole and she was entertained by it for about 10 whole minutes! She was pretty impressive with the whole fishing pole action for a first-timer though. She had no problem getting the line in the water, but I think she was really disappointed that she wasn’t catching any fish and she gave it up pretty quick.
My dad getting Kara’s pole ready to go.
She got tired of waiting. Throwing rocks in the water is much more entertaining!
Sophie and I hung out on the bank.
This is Kara’s fishing slide-show.
Sophie realized very quick that she did not like sitting on the rocks. She much preferred sitting on the blanket, picking up the rocks, and then handing them to me.
And we are done fishing, now it’s time to skip rocks!
It was really fun to have my dad here. Kara and Sophie both absolutely loved the attention he lavished on them, and Kara asked him every day if she could go home to Texas with him. It was very hard to see him go, as it always is when either of my parents leave. Kara cried most of the way home… which made me cry… which made Sophie cry even though she had no idea what we were crying for. Poor Evens! He’s going to have a house full of hormonal women and not know what to do! I’m sure he’ll be hiding out for most of their teenage years. Anyway, thanks dad for coming up here. We had tons of fun spending time with you!
